Freightgate Forecasts Emerging Logistics & Supply Chain Trends in 2014

Freightgate Forecasts Emerging Logistics & Supply Chain Trends in 2014

Freightgate announces 2014 trends in the Logistics and Supply Chain Industry that will make companies more competitive and affect how they manage their supply chains.

Huntington Beach, CA December 30, 2013

As we prepare for the coming 2014 year, Freightgate announced today five trends in the Logistics and Supply Chain Industry that will make companies more competitive and affect how they manage their supply chains. Since the early 1990's, Freightgate has been a leader in cloud computing and mobile applications for logistics and global supply chain management.

Trend #1: Compliance continues to be a key issue in Supply Chain Management
As businesses continue to expand internationally, organizations are increasingly putting their global supply chains and their reputations in the hands of neutral IT oversight spanning 3PLs, carriers, customs brokers, and suppliers. Supply chain compliance is now a vital component of logistics transactions and supplier relationships. In 2014, access to visibility and execution data will advance both supply chain conformity and transparency to help minimize and mitigate environmental, performance, process, and intellectual property risks. Freightgate incorporates the latest compliance and security design in all its logistics solutions based on user requirements.

Trend #2: Transportation Management Systems (TMS) will become more Hyper-Connected and Analytical as Global Trade expands.
Transportation Management Systems (TMS) usage and sophistication have been increasing over the last couple of years becoming more responsive and agile. Global TMS growth will continue to evolve to harness and encompass more business processes to provide both execution and analytical efficacy. Business Planning and predictive analytics is now being integrated to allow both shippers and carriers to more efficiently monitor supply demand cycles with synchronization in their transportation planning and supply chain events. A more collaborative approach in capacity management with aligned financial rewards will materialize in 2014. Freightgate's mission, values, and vision to forming long-term mutual partnerships with shippers and service providers supports new best-in-class innovations in logistics management.

Trend #3: BIG DATA Improves Global Supply Chain Performance while quantifying Risk
The ability to capture and analyze huge amounts of data regarding shipment and transportation events as goods travel through supply chains around the World will continue to improve goal-setting and ascend in importance. Predictive analytics and business intelligence are becoming a decisive essential in developing supply chain strategies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of processes, and support innovation to enhanced logistics planning. The management of BIG DATA in 2014 will be the avant-garde underpinning for cost containment, capacity control, and risk management. Freightgate's advanced capabilities in Business Intelligence (BI) for the daily management of logistics and global supply chains enables simplified analysis of big data to improve and optimize business decisions and in global supply chain performance.

Trend #4: Centralized Transportation Management delivers improved spend control, decision making and bottom-line results
Reductions in Transportation Spend Management in 2014 will be achieved by optimizing all aspects of business planning, vendor collaboration, carrier selection, and shipment logistics to centralized supply chain collaboration and decision-making. Transportation departments who once considered success as negotiating greater discounts from carriers will shift focus to a more comprehensive synchronized spend strategy concentrating on smaller incremental reductions and performance opportunities as goods move between suppliers, factories, warehouses, distribution centers and retailers across the entire logistics lifecycle. By breaking down silos and enabling a centralized holistic view to transportation management, overall net savings will be measured through reducing routing delays, improper documentation, poor collaboration, and greater in-transit inventory flexibility to changing retail trends. Additional savings in carbon emissions, finance charges, controlling inventory cycle and lead time will have a significant impact paying off by delivering improved bottom-line results and supply chain excellence. Freightgate supports corporate initiatives for multimodal transportation spend management and improvements in supply chain efficiency.

Trend #5: Cloud based Embedded Analytics will transform Supply Chain Departments
World-class companies and service providers are forming inter-departmental steering groups to manage their logistics development and supply chain expansion staying competitive in today's dynamic and rapidly changing environment. In 2014 the increased demand for Supply Chain Analysts will drive efficiency improvements of shipping processes and reallocating supply chain department resources to identify and focus on critical supply chain risk hotspots. The daily monitoring, sharing, linking and interpreting supply chain analytics will be crucial. Logistics solutions companies, such as Freightgate, will continue to help shippers and carriers weed through terabytes of daily information to select its most useful components, and then use that information to formulate the best possible transportation decisions. Supply chain analytics will allow businesses to create useful key performance indicators (KPI) and incubate innovative ideas to successfully manage service levels and integrated relationships with their suppliers and customers.

Freightgate Upgrades Export Compliance with Enhanced Export Denied Person Screening

Freightgate announced it has successfully deployed sophisticated export denied person screening capabilities in its Logistics Cloud with easy integration in ERP, CRM, SCM environments and TMS transportation management systems.

Huntington Beach, CA November 15, 2013 Freightgate, a global provider of Logistics Cloud Solutions, announced today that it has successfully deployed sophisticated export denied person screening capabilities in its Logistics Cloud. The Logistics Cloud, known as the Freightgate Universe, contains functionality supporting compliance to U.S. Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Homeland Security. Numerous Federal agencies are involved in maintaining and updating Blocked, Denied, Entity and Debarred Persons Lists. Freightgate Logistics Cloud Supports Improved Carbon-Emission Modeling for Supply Chains

Freightgate Logistics Cloud Supports Improved Carbon-Emission Modeling and Supply Chain Execution

Freightgate has successfully deployed new improved carbon emission modeling in its Logistics Cloud.

Huntington Beach, CA October 30, 2013 Freightgate, a global provider of Logistics Cloud Solutions, has successfully deployed improved carbon emission modeling in its Logistics Cloud. The Logistics Cloud, known as the Freightgate Universe, contains carbon footprint functionality that will help shippers and carriers capture, analyze and optimize the carbon footprint of their logistics and supply chains.

Earlier this week California, Oregon and Washington signed a Climate Pact with British Columbia to formally align climate and clean energy policies. They agreed to put a price on emissions and adopt fuel standards, bringing their efforts to cut greenhouse-gas pollution. The four jurisdictions together represent the world's fifth largest economy. The Climate Pact will have a substantial impact on local and global supply chains.

Using the Freightgate's Supply Chain Carbon-Emission Modeling, a company will be able to generate different rate and routing scenarios that compare operational, financial and environmental impact of their supply chain in real-time. The results will help determine which scenario is environmentally sound while at the same time being financially and operationally viable. The carbon footprint tracing feature offers customers transparency on the environmental impact of their logistics movements.

"We want companies to be able look at their logistics from the carbon perspective, so we are providing them with the tools to do in-house analysis on their carbon emissions. Understanding the carbon emission impact of your supply chain decisions and carrier routing alternatives is critical to conducting world trade. Freightgate's technology provides real-time, execution level calculation of carbon emission across modes and routing alternatives, including accounting for these upcoming fees along the entire Logistics Management Lifecycle" states Martin Hubert, Freightgate CEO and President.

Freightgate offers a wide range of green services, supply chain efficiency visualization and simulation tools as well as customer specific optimization projects. Freightgate constantly dialogues with its global partners to deliver the most advanced environmentally responsive solutions to support your sustainability initiatives.
