| The
Freightgate Marketplace Concept: |
| The
Freightgate Marketplace leverages the power of the Internet to
help shippers or third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
negotiate freight rates in a totally unique and secure
environment based upon the economic principles of supply and
demand.
|
| How
Does The Freightgate Marketplace Work?: |
| A
shipper or 3PL submits a firm or tentative transportation
offer. This offer is then instantly transmitted to our
extensive list of participating transportation providers via
email. These providers then have the options of accepting the
terms of the offer, placing a counter bid for the offer, or
ignoring the offer altogether. |
| What
Are The Benefits of Using The Freightgate Marketplace?: |
| The
Freightgate Marketplace eliminates the need to call multiple
carriers for rate quotes saving valuable staff time. Rate
quotations are returned in a much more efficient manner
usually at significant savings due to the nature of the
bidding process. The email medium also insures a traceable
document virtually eliminating rate disputes. |
| What
Does The Freightgate Marketplace Cost to Use?: |
| The
cost to use the Marketplace by shippers and 3PLs (as agents
for shippers) is FREE! Carriers pay a small nominal fee to
Freightgate when an offer is accepted. |
| How
Do I Know When a Carrier Accepts My Offer?: |
| As
soon as a Carrier accepts your offer, you will receive an
Email Alert. You can either contact the Carrier directly or
wait for the Carrier to contact you. |
| Can
I Limit the Carriers I Want to Work With? |
| Yes,
via the My Profile link, the Marketplace allows you to set up
profiles to pinpoint exactly the carriers or 3PLs (acting as
carriers) you want to work with. This insures that the offers
that are accepted are with carriers that you know and trust as
being quality services. |
| What
If One of the Carriers I Choose Does Not Participate?: |
| Freightgate
will contact the carrier on your behalf and encourage them to
participate in our Marketplace. Chances are when that carrier
is aware that you are requesting their services, they will be
eager to register. |
| What
Can I Do If I Do Not Understand Exactly What Data a Field
Description is Looking For?: |
| Simple,
by clicking on the field description a pop-up help box will
explain exactly what is required and in what format the data
should be submitted. If things are still not clear, feel free
to email us at info@freightgate.com,
which will be conveniently displayed on each page within the
Freightgate Marketplace. |
| How
Do I Get Started?: |
| Register
your company information. Once submitted an email will be sent
immediately to confirm your username and password. Use these
to login
to The Freightgate Marketplace and submit your offer via the
intuitive interface provided. With future logins you can
investigate accepted offers, expired offers, or pending offers
already posted. To find out more about the specifics of the
Marketplace, read the Freightgate User
Agreement. |
| Who
Can Register As a Shipper?: |
| Really
anyone contracting with a common carrier to transport cargo -
that being a manufacturer, supplier, consultant, freight
forwarder, ocean transport intermediary, non vessel operating
common carrier, third party logistics provider, household
goods mover, van lines, IATA agent, beneficial owner,
